Our stories

|A.D.W. was arrested on the 24th January 2010. During this arrest he was severely beaten by the arresting police office for close to 3 hours. This whole time he could not tell the reason for his arrest. He was taken to court a week later where for the first time heard his charge to be robbery with violence. Out of the three of his co-accused he was only familiar to one of them who was arrested together with him as for the other two ladies he saw them on that day in court while taking plea. While on our visit to prison we sort to interview the two ladies at Langat Women’s’ Prison in regards to the case. The two ladies E.I. and E.O. told us that their only connection to the robbery with violence case was the fact that they were found being in possession of one of the phone that is said to have been stolen during the incident. However the most amazing thing is that the person who sold the phone to them was not arrested yet the police were well aware of this.

Further, an Identification parade was not conducted to them yet this is one crucial procedure in such a case. For them, 4th March 2010 will be the 1st day that they will ever get to see their complainant
